Colombia El Tambo
El Tambo is in the Cuaca region of central-western Colombia. Ocean winds and high elevation make this one of the coldest regions in the country. The coffee in this area is grown mostly within Indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, and undergoes a somewhat unusual double-fermentation process before being washed.
This coffee in particular is sourced from entirely women-owned farms in association with ASMUCAFE, a co-op of women farmers committed to community and agricultural development in El Tambo, Cuaca.
The unique double-fermentation process and light-medium roast of this Colombia gives it a distinct sweetness and a mild acidity.
