Peru Dona Delicia Vasquez (Medium)
Dona Delcia Vasquez got started in coffee production working with her husband and eventually branched out and started her own farm. She's owned her farm for approximately 15 years and has been a member of COOPAFSI for 13 years. In addition to coffee, the farm produced cocoa, bananas, lettuce, and limes. This coffee undergoes an extended (30-36 hour) fermentation process and is dried in a solar drying tent. After drying, the coffee is sent to COOPAFSI for dry milling and preparation for export. COOPAFSI was established in 1969 in an effort to promote gender equality in coffee production and has focused heavily on ways to improve coffee quality and the livelihoods of its members.
